Official Scrabble Dictionaries
We use authoritative tournament word lists as our primary source: NWL2023 and CSW21 for English, ODS9 for French, FISE for Spanish, Zingarelli for Italian, OpenTaal for Dutch, and curated Scrabble-filtered lists for German and Portuguese. This means the words you find here are the same ones accepted in official Scrabble competition play.
Nine Languages Supported
WordIzy operates in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Japanese (romaji), and Mandarin Chinese (pinyin). Switch languages at any time using the selector in the navigation bar — the entire interface, the FAQ tips, and the underlying dictionary change instantly.
Smart Features
Copy any word list to your clipboard with one click. Your recent searches are saved locally for quick re-running. Loading skeletons give you a smooth experience while dictionaries warm up. And the entire site is a Progressive Web App — install it on your phone or desktop for full-screen, app-like access.
Privacy by Design
No accounts. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. Every query is processed server-side using dictionaries held in memory. We collect only anonymous search analytics (the query string, tool used, and result count — no IP address, no user ID) to help us improve. A cookie consent banner appears on your first visit, and you can manage cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Themes & Accessibility
Choose between Light, Dark, or System theme — the toggle cycles through all three with a single click. The interface uses semantic HTML, ARIA labels for screen readers, and keyboard-friendly navigation throughout. Active navigation items are marked with aria-current for assistive technology.
